Family Purple-Loosestrife Family     Lythraceae
Habit of Plant Low creeping annual with stems about 10cm long. The stems root at the frequent nodes.
Flowers Very small only 1mm across located in the leaf axils. Petals are not visible.
Occurance Frequent to the south but very rare towards the north Scotland.
Location Likes damp bare ground such as woodland paths or near ponds which are flooded in winter.
Seasons Flowers June - October.
