Wildflowers for July

Yellow Rattle   Rhinanthus minor

Photographed on the 5 July at Perranporth, Cornwall.
Plants up to 50cm tall. These are shorter as they are growing in exposed conditions on sea cliffs.
Flowers are a bridgt yellow colour. The seeds when dry rattle in the seed pod - hence the name.
