Hymenophyllum site

The site where I photographed these ferns was within a mile of the Atlantic Ocean. The site is about 600ft above sea level and is situated on the northern side of a hill.

View taken from the site. The hill in the distance is similar to the one from which the photo is taken.

The ferns are growing amongst the granite rocks. The highest concentration of the ferns is near the Hedea helix (centre left of picture).

Nearby also grows:

  • Polypodium vulgare (shown in the photo above)
  • Pteridium aquilinum
  • Athyrum filix-femina (shown in the photo above)
  • Dryopteris aemula
  • Blechnum spicant
  • Dryopteris dilatata
